Just wanted to say a huge thanks to the team at Stanley House Hotel for such a fantastic stay last week and for making my Mum’s 80th birthday so special. The rooms and food, in particular, were fantastic.
Extra special mention needs to go to Katherine and the young man in the restaurant who mainly looked after us (apologies as didn’t get his name) and Anna from the spa who was so lovely with my Mum.
Also – thanks to you for all your help in organising it.

I am sorry I was unable to return your call earlier in the week, but I did want to thank you both for all your help and patience in helping me organise a very special lunch last Sunday. It was just perfect and many of our guests commented on how impressed they were with the venue, the service and the lunch itself.

I feel I must put on record our appreciation of a very fine evening at your Grill on the Hill, when my wife and myself had a an excellent dinner there on Tuesday the 6th September.
The occasion was to celebrate the birthday of my wife Beryl, and I cannot think of a better venue than Stanley House where once again we were very impressed from start to finish.
We were looked after by your Aurelien Molliere who did us proud, unfortunately in these days when standards have dropped significantly it is good to see that your restaurant carries on the tradition of the highest standards.

Take a bow Stanley House-you deserve it.

“My wife and I dined at the Grill on the hill on the 15th Feb. I have previously eaten at Mr Fred’s (the hotels other less formal restaurant) and found that excellent so I was curious as to what to expect at the Grill on the Hill.
The restaurant was not that busy but to be expected on a ‘school night’ the day after valentines day, but still there were 2 or 3 other couples dining and with the nice music the atmosphere was good.
Well what can I say about the food? I had scallops for starter and a fillet steak followed by a creme brulee, and my wife had smoked salmon to start followed by a T-bone steak and a malteser parfait.
I would categorise my food as top notch, and having travelled extensively to the US where they take their steak pretty seriously in high touch restaurants I can attest that the fillet was as good if not better than 99% of all the steaks I have eaten in the US. The scallops and the creme brulee equally were fantastic.
As for my wife’s comments, well she said “You know, I think this may be the best meal I have ever had” enough said really!”
