Do Stanley House have an in-house Master of Ceremonies?

Our Operations Manager on the day will be more than happy to assist with the MC requirements. Throughout the day will we guide you and keep you to schedule. A microphone is available for speeches.

Will I have the opportunity to speak with our Master of Ceremonies before the day?

We do ask that you visit the hotel approximately three days before your celebrations to allow for you to be introduced to the Operations Team. At this meeting we would ask that you also bring with you any ancillary items you wish to dress your room with, suitcases you wish to be placed in your bridal suite, cake, favours and table plans. The Operations Team will arrange the items as instructed during this meeting, leaving you time before the wedding to concentrate on you.

Do you have a preferred order of service?

It is your day, and you do as you would prefer – whether that is the traditional order, or personalized just for you.
The recommended order of the day, and durations are as follows:
Civil Ceremony (if applicable) = 1/2 hour
Time from church ceremony to Stanley House = 2 hours
Drinks Reception = 2 hours
Line-up (if required) = 45 minutes, dependant on guest numbers
Wedding Breakfast = 2 hours (including 1/2 hour for speeches)
Rest Break = 45 minutes

What is a receiving line / line-up?

The receiving line is where you would greet your guests as they go through to the wedding breakfast. A time where your guests get to speak to you on a one-one basis, if only for a few seconds. This is not compulsory and is completely your choice if you wish to remove this item from your event proceedings.

When can our suppliers have access to begin setting up the room in terms of decorating it with balloons, flowers, banners, etc? (Morning of wedding, day before, etc?)

We endeavour to set-up the wedding overnight, leaving the areas set for your other suppliers to dress from 7am onwards.

Is there a dressing room that the bride and bridesmaids can use prior to the ceremony?

To ensure an area is available prior to 3pm, we would ask that you reserve a room the night prior – giving you chance to organize your dress, layout your jewellery and have a good nights sleep prior to the Big Day.

Do you allow make-up artists and hairdressers access to the bedrooms?

We would require to know in advance of arrival, any guests that will be visiting you on the morning of the wedding. This will ensure we can allow access to the residents only areas of the estate and escort accordingly. If the evening reception is being held in a room that is being used for something else earlier in the day, do you require the DJ/Band to set-up their equipment beforehand?

Unless you have selected our exclusivity packages, we would use the same room for both your day and night celebrations. In this case we ask your guests to retire to your bar area in between your wedding breakfast and the evening guests arrive – this would allow the space (and privacy should you wish to make any special plans a surprise), to set-up your evening requirements. This would normally take approximately 45 minutes.

Can we arrange our own entertainment?

Absolutely, all that we ask for in advance of the event date is proof of your chosen artists PAT certification and Public Liability insurance. We do require the contact details in advance to confirm access times, etc directly with your suppliers.

Our band require a changing area – is this facility available?

To guarantee the use of a bedroom for a changing area, we would ask that you reserve this as part of your room allocation and this will be charged for in accordance with the function rates.

Will I have the opportunity to speak with the DJ before my wedding day?

The company who organise our resident DJ will contact you upon confirming your wedding celebrations with us. At this time you will be invited to meet with them and discuss your entertainment requirements. A portal will be provided for your guests to access & request songs for you.
