Shobna, who is best know for her roles as Sunita in Coronation Street and Anita on Victoria Wood’s Dinnerladies, will host the popular ladies only event which will take place at Stanley House Hotel on Thursday, June 21.
Over 150 guests are expected to attend the event, dining on a two-course summer menu devised by Stanley House Hotel executive head chef, Steve Williams. Baked salmon en croute with baby new potatoes, wilted greens and dill butter, will be followed by a dessert of iced lemon parfait, coffee and treats.
June’s Ladies who Lunch will be held in aid of local children’s charity, Miles of Smiles. Last year, Stanley House raised over £5,000 for the charity, with celebrity guests including broadcast legend Anne Diamond, TV chef and ‘Ladette to Lady’ mentor Rosemary Shrager, and former MP and Strictly Come Dancing contestant, Edwina Currie helping to make previous events a sell out.
Stanley House’s sales and marketing manager, Wendy Hope, said: “It’s an exciting time at Stanley House Hotel. We’re unveiled the extension to Mr Fred’s this month and our new rooms are set to open in July ahead of the launch of our world class spa.
“As well as enjoying lunch with the lovely Shobna, our guests will receive spa goodies including the brand new brochure and exclusive Ladies who Lunch discount on selected treatments. After lunch, we’ll be giving Shobna a sneak peek at our brand new spa ahead of the official opening in September.”
Shobna added: “I’m looking forward to swapping Betty’s Hotpot for some Lancashire fayre when I visit Stanley House Hotel in June. It’ll be my first visit to Stanley House and, as well as helping to raise money for Miles of Smiles and meeting the ladies, I can’t wait to see the hotel and hear all about what’s in store for the new spa.”
Guests will have the opportunity to browse stalls from some of Lancashire’s finest independent retailers including floral displays from The Flower Shop, luxury home accessories from Finishing Touches and a range of jewellery, fashion and accessories from the likes of Pashmina Ladies and The Dressing Room.
A charity raffle will offer a top prize of two first class Virgin Train tickets for any UK destination, among others.
