UPDATE – Thursday, 13th August 2020
The Spa at Stanley House is reopening

After the stress and strain of recent months, we could all do with some luxury, TLC and time to focus on our health and wellbeing. The Spa at Stanley House provides the perfect setting for rest and relaxation, and we have been eagerly waiting for the right time to safely reopen our doors.

From Saturday, August 15 The Spa at Stanley House will be reopening its doors and welcoming guests once again. Our team will be offering a carefully curated collection of treatments – including massages, manicures and waxing – on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays each week.

We’ve taken a safety-first approach, and our team has been busy working hard behind the scenes to prepare it for reopening. Above all, your health and safety is our priority, and we remain committed to protecting against the spread of COVID-19, so we have made some important enhancements to our procedures as set out here.

We may look a little different with the necessary measures in place to keep everyone safe, but the same warm and friendly team awaits. Hope to welcome you soon.

Mr Fred’s Bar & Lounge – Eat Out to Help Out

Stanley House is pleased to confirm that the hotel is participating in the government-backed ‘Eat Out to Help Out’ scheme, meaning you can enjoy our daily-refreshed menu of Fred’s Favourites with a 50 per cent discount all day every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday throughout August, up to a value of £10 per person.

The discount is available on food and non-alcoholic drinks when you dine in at Mr Fred’s. You do not need a voucher to use this scheme and you can use it at the same time as other offers and discounts. There is no minimum spend. You cannot claim discount on alcoholic drinks or service charges.

Given the popularity of the scheme, we strongly recommend booking a table reservation to avoid disappointment.

Weddings

As a result of the lockdown imposed by the Prime Minister, Stanley House Hotel & Spa temporarily closed its doors from March 20, 2020, and as directed, will remain closed for the duration of the restrictions.

While we do not know how long the lockdown will last, the COVID-19 pandemic is a constantly evolving situation, and Stanley House will continue to be guided by government advice in respect of social distancing, stopping all non-essential contact with others and avoiding large gatherings.

Lancashire County Council has also made the decision to put on hold its wedding ceremony services and postpone all ceremonies until at least the last quarter of 2020, unless there is an urgent medical need.

These services enable couples to legally marry at approved premises such as Stanley House, so we are urging all couples who have weddings booked with us between March 21, 2020 and August 31, 2020 to follow the latest government advice regarding weddings and other large social gatherings here.

To comply with the latest government advice, our team is on hand to answer your queries remotely while at home. Should you wish to seek advice from the hotel team or have any questions relating to a current or potential wedding booking, please address these questions to sales@stanleyhouse.co.uk and we will endeavour to respond with a prompt reply during normal working hours.

Stay safe and well, and we look forward to welcoming you to our house on the hill once again.

UPDATE – Wednesday, 18th March 2020
Health and Safety

Dear Guest,

Further to the government update of 16th March we wanted to inform you all, in these unprecedented times, of our commitment to our guests, friends and staff as the impact of COVID-19 gathers momentum.

We as a business have been following the strictest advice, including the implementation of protocols advised by public health authorities and the World Health Organisation for the safety of all who visit us and for those who work at Stanley House Hotel & Spa.

Our staff are well informed through team talks, meetings and daily briefings. We have implemented and strengthened our guidelines and procedures including hand-washing hygiene, special use of anti-bacterial and viral disinfectants; increased frequency of hard surface cleaning schedules both before and after all services. High-use areas such as door handles, light switches, lift buttons, public bathrooms and room keys, are being cleaned with an anti-viral product on a regular basis.

Given the impact of COVID-19 on how we work, socialise and travel, we have been adapting our cancellation policy over the past several weeks to the evolving nature of this epidemic. For this reason and due to the multiple reservation channels that are accessible to our guests we will be reviewing all existing bookings on a case by case basis.

For guests making new individual reservations between today and June 30, 2020, we will allow those reservations to be changed or cancelled at no charge up to 24 hours before a guest’s scheduled arrival date.

As your safety and well-being are our first priority, the team here at Stanley House Hotel & Spa have been instructed to avoid the temptation to shake hands with our guests. We are open for business as usual, and can assure you of a warm welcome from our dedicated team.

Best Wishes

Philip A Wharton
