Birthday Celebrations – June 2018

My wife and I visited your lovely hotel for the first time on Sunday 03/06 for champagne afternoon tea that was bought as a gift for our joint 50th birthdays. On arrival we were greeted by very welcoming staff and had a drink on the patio to start before going to Mr Fred’s. The champagne was served and me being clumsy knocked the strawberry off the top of the glass onto my new top. In my embarrassment I pointed it out to the waitress who promptly disappeared and then reappeared to my surprise with a thin towel and a small dish containing hot water with Vanish in it for me to dab onto the stain. The stain was completely removed – amazing!

What brilliant customer service this is. I didn’t catch the lady’s name. We were so impressed with this level of service (and the afternoon tea) that we enquired about staying over on New Year’s Eve and were then shown around the Grill room by another very friendly lady who even let us take the menu away. Please on my thanks to the team who were there on Sunday.

You are doing something very right on your Customer Service training & awareness. We will definitely be visiting you again.

1st Wedding Anniversary – November 2016

We stayed at the hotel this weekend and we just wanted to say how wonderful our stay was!

We were celebrating our 1 year wedding anniversary and I can honestly say that this hotel
Is the most fabulous place we have ever stayed!

Please could you pass on a massive thank you to Max from Mr Fred’s, he looked after us on our wedding weekend last year, and he did this weekend also. He is a credit to your hotel and we will be returning soon to see him! Please pass on our regards as we didn’t get chance to say goodbye to him on Sunday, but if you could also please pass this compliment on to your general manager as service as exceptional as Max’s needs to be recognised!

40th Birthday Celebration – August 2016

Just wanted to drop you and your staff a quick e-mail to say thank you very much for our stay at your hotel. I booked a Groupon as a treat for my girlfriends 40th birthday, the booking was very easy and pleasant and I booked to stay on the 7th of August. On arrival we were informed that as it was my girlfriends birthday we were to receive a free upgrade to the Bridal Suite in the old building. I genuinely cannot thank you enough for this gesture and it made a very special weekend even better, as this room is just wonderful. The meal in the restaurant, and our breakfast the next morning were both fantastic, the staff at both meal times being excellent. Again, please pass on my thanks to every member of your fantastic staff for making my girlfriends 40th birthday so so special.

Birthday Celebration – May 2016

My wife and I have just finished a wonderful 3 day stay at Stanley House and would like to let you know that we were provided with excellent service from all staff (from reception through to Mr Fred’s and the spa). It was really nice to be upgraded to the bridal suite and it made our stay really special.

We also briefly mentioned it was my wife’s birthday and this must have been passed on to the restaurant which was a nice surprise for her when we dined. We look forward to staying again and thank you for your friendliness and professionalism.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at your hotel with friends last week (Friday, July 10) and felt compelled to write to let you know about our experience.

As a Blackburn native and also a hospitality veteran myself, I was so impressed with the Stanley House from arrival to departure. The Front Desk receptionist was efficient and helpful at check in and check out. Billing was handled with ease. The rooms were spotless…kudos to your housekeeping team. Dinner in Mr. Fred’s was outstanding. The food was incredible and Patrick, our server, just made our evening. He was attentive yet inobtrusive in his service delivery and gave excellent recommendations. As you may imagine, as a Four Seasons manager, my standards are extremely high, but Patrick delivered and is certainly a credit to your team. I would not hesitate in hiring him as a server in our restaurant!

If there were any negatives, it was that were unable to obtain spa treatments, note pre-booking is essential and breakfast service was a little slow, but we were in no rush!

I do hope that you will share this message with your staff. We hope to return and will not hesitate in recommending your hotel to friends and family!

Just a note to say how much my wife, Joan, and I are enjoying the new menu at Mr Fred’s. It’s only in the last 12 months (more’s the pity) that we’ve discovered Stanley House and we’ve always enjoyed lunches in the restaurant or the occasional family gathering in the early evening. In fact we knew the old menu pretty well and were never disappointed.
Now with the new menu we enjoy it even more and wish you continued success, even though we only joined you nine years after you opened. The dishes are imaginative, attractive and tasty and the boys and girls in the restaurant have always provided us with efficient, friendly service – just as we like it: not stuffy in the least but then again not too “matey”.

I wanted to thank you and all the staff at Stanley House, for the wonderful break my husband and I recently had. We had booked a 2 day break, having taken advantage of a TravelZoo offer, staying Wednesday 25th and Thursday 26th March. From the moment we drove up the driveway, we were impressed by the beautiful setting, aspect and buildings that make up Stanley House. We found all the staff, from Reception to the house keeping staff, to those who work in Mr Fred’s, to the staff in the gorgeous Thermal Spa, most attentive, helpful and courteous. We both planned this break, as we needed some relaxation and pampering and this is just what we found whilst staying at Stanley House. We felt very spoilt in the sumptuous bedroom (30) we were allocated and the Thermal Spa and facilities were just what we needed to relax and unwind. Loved the large glass windows overlooking the pond and gardens, which added to the feeling of peace and tranquillity. This has been a most enjoyable stay and we have already recommended Stanley House to friends and other family members.

We also found the meals at Mr Fred’s delicious, with a varied selection and again a most relaxing, informal atmosphere where nothing was too much trouble for the staff.

I think you have my details on your mailing list, but if not would you please add it. I would also appreciate hearing of any offers for short stays, or for a Thermal Spa day with lunch, or afternoon tea, or evening meal, as I know that some friends and I would be very interested in coming again. I do hope that Stanley House uses TravelZoo again, with more offers, to give people the chance to experience a wonderful stay with you in a beautiful setting.

I just wanted to express my sincere thanks to everyone at Stanley House. We recently celebrated my mothers 80th birthday there and the overall experience was exceptional.

The food was first class, from the light bites through to the desserts each course was beautifully presented and
according to everyone at the party it was absolutely delicious. Please pass my compliments on to the Chefs and
also onto the wonderful staff in Mr Fred’s from the Manager to the waiting staff who are a credit to the hotel, the service
was proffessional, friendly, very attentive and nothing was too much trouble for them.

I’m sure we could not have had a more perfect day anywhere else, my mother along with her family and friends had a
fabulous time and we will all have happy memories of the day. I for one hope to return again soon.

In this day and age it seems very easy for people to be critical. Therefore, I want to take a moment of my time to pass praise to a member of your staff called Lukasz that served us at Mr Fred’s yesterday. His attentiveness, manner and his desire to do his job very well should be commended. It is obvious that this young man enjoys his job and wants to do his best each day he comes into work.
As for us as paying customers it was a treat to be served by such a young man willing to offer such a good service. Also the food served was excellent.

“We had the most lovely lunch at Mr Fred’s restaurant at Stanley house the panoramic view from the the new beautiful, bright, clean & stylish conservatory was delightful! The atmosphere was extremely pleasant & staff were extremely on the ball and attentive! The food was the most fabulous value for money & is worth a lot more. I had a chicken & chorizo salad that was full of flavour & shared a bowl of homemade hand cut chips with my friend. We dined for 5hours as we enjoyed the ambience and feel for the place so much and were made to feel very welcome and comfortable to stay. The service was sharp & quick & we simply extended are stay because the place was so lovely. I would highly recommend to anyone & everyone! Have been here many times in different company, family, friends, party’s e.t.c. & have thoroughly enjoyed every experience I have visited here. I have a young brother at the age of 8 who loves the place too and he all of a sudden grows up when he walks in, he’s particular about food but loves the children’s menu here at Stanley house, so children are well catered for too! Overall a top class hotel & restaurant which I really hope you take the time to visit as every member of my friends & I enjoyed every aspect of this lunch time and where most impressed. It’s very accessible and isn’t far from Blackburn or the tickle trout motorway in Preston (approx 5-10 mins away). The hotel rooms are out of this world! And would be the icing on the cake to end a romantic getaway !! I can’t wait for the new gym & spa to open in August this year as it will mean more facilities & be an added excuse to come to visit Stanley house again!!!!!”
