Is your venue easy to find?

Set within the idyllic location of the rolling Ribble Valley Hills, this provides an attractive backdrop for any event, yet only minutes from both the M6 and M65 providing quick and easy access to Cumbria, Manchester, Yorkshire and Merseyside.

Do you have landing permission should we want to arrive via a helicopter?

You can arrive via by horse and carriage (although a little tricky with the hill), helicopter or even by a hot air balloon.

Helicopter arrivals and departures must adhere to the below information:

• Stanley House coordinates are: N 53°,45’,51 W 002°,32’,24
• All arrivals must be cleared through the hotel prior to arrival.
• A PPR [prior permission required – disclaimer] form must be completed, signed and returned by all helicopters
companies/private pilots prior to arrival [please contact the hotel reception]. This will include a date valid
insurance certificate that should be scanned to us at the hotel reception
• Final approach and take off MUST avoid the following coordinates N53°45’44.7 W 002°32′,50.1″. STUD FARM
• Notify the hotel of their reason for landing.
• Note that we do not permit landing or take off when dark.


Can we arrive by horse and carriage?

We do have a bridal path close to our estate which can be used as an access point to the hotel. This has a more gradual gradient, making the journey not as strenuous for the horse. This has been used in the past very successfully.

Do you allow confetti to be thrown at the venue?

Absolutely, as long as the confetti used is bio-degradable and it is thrown outside of the building

Can we get married outside in the gardens?

Unfortunately the local authorities will not approve open air locations for a civil ceremony license therefore the marriage would have to take place in one of our function suites (much more suitable for the British weather!) Should you prefer to perform the formalities at another time (i.e. at the registry office) this does open more opportunities for you to personalise this part of your day.

I believe we can sponsor a tree in your orchard?

We do have a variety of fruit trees in our orchard which can be sponsored for a charge of £250.00. Proceeds are donated to our local charity, Rosemere Cancer Foundation, where we in turn create a plaque to be displayed on your chosen tree.

I am getting married in December, will your Christmas decorations be in place?

We do start to theme the hotel in the last week of November therefore if your celebrations are taking place during the month of December you will have the helping hand of our hotel Christmas decorations

Will ours be the only wedding at your venue on our wedding day?

Unless otherwise advised, we can hold two weddings on one date. We do conduct the timings to allow both wedding parties have the use of the gardens for photographs. Both function suites are self contained, with their own rest rooms, kitchens and bar ensuring your event is kept private for only your guests.

Will we have exclusive access to the venue?

At Stanley House we dedicate a floor to you, so that it feels exclusive and you get some privacy from members of the public or other function guests. Pure exclusivity of both function suites is available for an additional fee however the restaurants would still remain accessible by members of the public and other residents.
If you are utilizing both function suites for your day, i.e. ceremony in the Stables, wedding breakfast in the Barn, this will incur an additional venue dressing fee from Creative Cover Hire should you have selected our Ultimate Package.

How many car parking spaces are available?

Stanley House car park is free of charge, holding up to 180 cars. Cars can park for overnight stays however the registration number should be reported to the main reception desk.
Please note: the hotel is not responsible for any items left on the premises.

Do you allow candles to be lit in the reception room?

We have no restrictions on the decorations used on the tables, or in the function room as long as they are not fixed by an adhesive and candles are held in a votive. Where candles are considered for the ceremony, please do ensure these are not excessive in number as the registrar may consider this a health and safety concern. During this time, the registrars are responsible for the welfare of your guests and may decline to conduct the ceremony on safety grounds.

Is there outdoor space available to use?

Regardless of your chosen function suite we do provide you with extensive manicured gardens, which make a perfect overflow or additional space to your drinks reception.

Can we play background music on the patio areas?

It is with regret that we do not have any audio equipment in the external grounds of our property, only internally. By all means please provide us with your preferred music (by IPOD or CD) and we will play these for you during the drinks reception and the wedding breakfast.

Are we allowed to organise some giant outdoor games?

Entertainment items to keep your guests amused during the drinks reception are very much welcomed. We do however ask that these are kept within the private areas and not visible from areas which may be in contact with our hotel guests.

What would happen if it rains on our day?

We do have plans in place should it rain on your wedding day but please remember – ‘the stormier the wedding, the happier the marriage’. We are blessed to have such picturesque views and areas both in and outside of the hotel, of which we encourage you to use despite the weather, embrace and capture every moment of your day. We appreciate that you will want to keep your guests comfortable and do have an area which can host your drinks reception without having to face the elements, along with umbrellas available at every entrance and exit should you wish to explore the grounds.

Do you allow professional firework displays at your venue?

Absolutely, your wish is our command however we do ask that we are given prior notice (to enable us to inform the farmer!) and we ask that the display commences before 9pm, lasts no longer than 10 minutes, the suppliers used are BPA accredited and they use low noise fireworks.

Do you have a noise limiter fitted or can we turn the music all the way up?

Being that our neighbours are mainly sheep & cows, our venue is free from noise restrictions.

Can we personalise the main entrance / reception lobby?

Should you wish to delegate your bridesmaids / ushers a task on the day, it is a nice touch to dress the staircase with the pew end displays you may have organised for a church ceremony. The chandelier can change colour from red, green, blue, purple or pink – enhancing your theme beyond the function room itself. Should there be another wedding taking place on the same day as yourselves we would coordinate the dressings to ensure the areas are dressed appropriately for the duration of the drinks reception.
The main entrance would be dressed with for a red carpet welcome, with lanterns in place right through to the evening reception to provide a candlelit welcome.

Do you comply with the Disability Discrimination Act?

The entire premises has been designed to ensure no guest has to tackle any steps to enter the building, nor is there any gravel to challenge your journey onto the estate. We have lift access to the first floor function suite, and specially designed disabled access bedrooms should these be required for your guests convenience and comfort.
